Blackmagic at the Oscars

Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve has a five out of eight chance of winning an Oscar....better odds than most! Blackmagic's premier editing software was used in five of the eight nominations for Best Picture at this year's Oscars. The Movies include Bohemian Rhapsody, Favourite, Roma, Green Book and Vice.

CEO of Blackmagic, Grant Petty "wanted to democratise creativity and says "just because you don't have the money doesn’t mean you are stupid"."

"It's exciting but we also have a huge responsibility," says the 50-year-old entrepreneur. "There is a lot of seriousness in what we are doing and a lot of collaboration as well. You always get those famous directors that knock on the door and say 'I have to have this for my next film'. You just have to get it done."

The key to their saturation at the Oscars is giving a version of DaVinci Resolve away for FREE. But to get advanced features it will only set you back $465 so he has been true to his word and wanting to democratise creativity. And of course you can purchase it through The Streaming Guys
